Abbi Pulling (Rodin Motorsport) took the two pole positions in the F1® Academy qualifying session at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, making it four this season. The Alpine Academy driver set the first and second fastest times, with a time of 1:41.396 and 1:41.544 respectively, as well as earning the four points awarded for being the fastest. The Briton, who is even more of a leader in the championship with 38 points ahead of Doriane Pin (Prema Racing), will therefore start first in both Saturday and Sunday’s races. The French driver struggled a little more to find her rhythm in the final part of the session and had to settle for fourth place in the first race and third in the second.

Behind Pulling will be Chloe Chambers (Campos Racing) on both days. The American has gone from strength to strength and has even taken pole position, a position that was later taken from her by a brilliant Nerea Martí (Campos Racing), who will finally start from third place on Saturday and fourth on Sunday. The Valencian has made her best qualifying of the season, just 133 hundredths of a second off the championship leader, so the excitement at her home race is guaranteed, where she will seek the top positions.

Bianca Bustamante (ART Grand Prix) will occupy fifth place in Saturday’s race, while Hamda Al-Qubaisi (MP Motorsport) will start fifth in Sunday’s race. With all the drivers classified just under a second behind the pole position holder, the weekend promises some great battles and plenty of excitement.
